100,000 downloads!

After 4 years of existence the EMFF has been downloaded more than 100,000 times. I am totally overwhelmed by how popular this little piece of software seems to be. This gives me reason to keep you informed about my current work progress and future plans.

As you might now, I am currently studying at the Technical University of Darmstadt. This and the fact that I am the only developer of the EMFF are the reasons why the development is so slow, or even stands still if exams have to be written. Nevertheless there are many things that want to be integrated, just to name a few:

• The migration of the build system from MTASC and swfmill to Flex 3 in order to use ActionScript 3 (of course this is only possible if many users, at least more than 99%, have the Flash Plugin 9 installed)
• A dynamic skin creation system, allowing users to create their own skins based on XML files without having to setup the build system on their computer
• Graphical representation of playlists
• Use of swfobject to ensure that the user has the required Flash Plugin
